ENG – Handgit, A bioclimatic gîte for everyone specially constructed for families with
handicapped members in the Cévennes, France
This family project, hand-built and self-financed from March 2014, is designed to provide a unique living-space for 10-12 guests.
For its early completion we now offer the possibility for guests to participate in financing the final stages of its construction as detailed below.
Ideally situated in the Cévennes region of southern France, which has been classified as a World Heritage site since 2011, the gîte is located in Haute Levade in the village of Sainte Cécile d’Andorge. It is surrounded by mixed woodland and is only 3 km from the nautical centre on the Lac des Camboux. HANDGIT is a gîte of 240 m²: — 150 m² on the ground floor comprising an open-plan living area of 100 m², three bedrooms and two bathrooms (with showers, WCs fitted with hand-supports, doors 90 cm wide, plugs at regulated height, etc. …);
– on the upper floor there is a bathroom, two bedrooms and a well-lit reading corner; and
— outside, a bioclimatic conservatory, a south-facing terrace, a covered yard on the north side, a barbeque, a boule pitch and a garden.
